We congratulate Marsel Turakaev with a successful dissertation defense that qualifies him to receive a PhD degree in sociological sciences. The defense took place on January 31, 2017. His dissertation focuses on social and cultural factors of reproduction of mobile employment in a Russian region (on the example of the northeast of the Republic of Bashkortostan).

A telephone survey on the theme "Labor and Educational Migration (Russia and China)" has been started. The sample size is at least 1000 respondents. The purpose of the study is to analyze the socio-economic aspects of the problem of labor and educational migration between Russia and China. Research lead is Vladimir Vyacheslavovich Kozlovsky, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Sociology of Culture and Communication.

The purpose of the study is to identify ethical standards in sports, which are guided by athletes in their sporting career. The project' lead is Alexander Sergeevich Gonashvili, student of the Department of Economic Sociology, Bachelor's degree.

"Russian View on International Law": Interactive Visualization of Data

Under the project "Russian View on International Law: The Current State and Development Prospects," we have begun interactive visualization of data using Tableau. The research aims: 1) to analyze modern theoretical approaches to the understanding of international law in the light of its development trends taking into account the position of the Russian Federation; 2) to identify opportunities and mechanisms for the fullest and most effective participation of the Russian Federation in the international lawmaking and the protection of national interests by international legal means. Research lead is Xenia Dmitrievna Shestakova, Candidate of Juridical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of International Law.

The contract commissioned preparation and carrying out research projects related to the analysis of mass media audiences (audiences of print media, radio and TV channels and that of internet media) in the 17 municipal areas and a city district of the Leningrad region. Based on the data, 18 reports focusing on each of the municipal areas of the Leningrad region and Sosnovo district of St.Petersburg and a report combining results of all regions have been prepared.
