Tenth “Sorokin Readings” International Conference

On 17-18 February, 2016, the 10-th “Sorokin Readings” international conference took place at the Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov. The conference focused on the Russian society’s health and its sociological, psychological and medical aspects in the 21st century. The co-organizers of the conference were the scientific Centre for cardiovascular surgery named after A. Bakulev and the Psychology Department of MSU. These sponsors made possible to cover the interdisciplinary nature of the theme. More than 500 researchers submitted applications to participate in nine sections and one round table. As a result, 200 researchers from different regions of Russia as well as that of Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, Israel and China participated in the conference. A. S. Boyashov, research specialist of the Resource Center, presented two papers at the conference. The first paper focused on the impact of the international Red Cross on the social group of medical staff in Russia. The second paper addressed the sociological method of evaluation of the effectiveness of international courts and tribunals in health-related issues. Each paper included a Power Point presentation and dynamic Tableau data visualization. In the presentations, A. S. Boyashov discussed methods of processing data collected through the on-line social networks and that of data collected through the documents of international organizations.
